Description
Come celebrate Colony Christmas with our annual parade!
Rules & Requirements: To keep everyone as safe as possible, entrants are asked to ensure that all vehicles (with the exception of farm tractors) and drivers are licensed, registered and insured. Proof of Insurance must be submitted in order for the application to be approved. Vehicles must have an increased awareness of vehicle proximity to walkers. With these and other safe-guards we will enable the parade-goers and entrants to celebrate this exciting event safely. We also ask that no entries have a Santa, there will be an official Santa and additional Santas confuse the littles.
Confirmation & Check-in: Your entry will be collected and delivered to the Parade Coordinator, who will approve/deny applications. You will only be notified by email or phone if your application is denied. All participants must check in at the viewing stand (inside of the Depot on S. Alaska St.) between 3 pm & 4:30 pm, on December 9th. At this time, you will be issued a parade line-up number. No numbers will be given before.
Please note: Limit the length of your entry & avoid extended stops/ performances in front of the reviewing stand. Holding up the parade for considerable amounts of time may cause your group to be eliminated from the prize standings.
Prizes: In each category, 1st place certificates will be awarded. Prizes & certificates will be awarded for the overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. All winners will be notified by mail within two weeks of the event.
Safety Notes: Car & motorcycle groups will be required to drive 2 abreast along the parade route. There will be no revving of engines, “wheelies”, or “laying rubber.” You may not throw candy or items from moving vehicles. All items must be handed out by individuals walking along the route. Failure to abide by these rules will result in denied entry in future parades. Entrants with animals must provide cleanup immediately following animals.
