Reporting to both the Director of Behavioral Health and the Rehabilitation Services Program Coordinator, the LPC works as part of a collaborative team to provide mental health services tailored to client needs. In this role, you’ll build strong, supportive relationships with a diverse group of individuals, offering compassionate care while helping clients work toward their goals.

What your day to day might look like:                   
This position requires adherence to organizational compliance standards, including the Code of Conduct and Compliance Program, with performance evaluations reflecting compliance. The LPC delivers integrated assessments and therapy (individual, group, and family) using evidence-based practices and leads team reviews with behavioral health, primary care, and dental teams. They effectively utilize group therapy, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and provide 24/7 crisis intervention and emergency services, ensuring timely documentation. Additionally, the LPC offers consultation and training to Rehabilitation Services staff, engages in clinical supervision based on licensure, and liaises with external agencies. They are expected to achieve 50% productivity in billable time each week.

You need: 
  • License eligible Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • License preferred
  • Two years of experience working in a mental health setting preferred
 
Ability to demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of DSM-IV, DSM-IV-TR, DSM-5, and ASAM placement criteria
  • A basic understanding of the concepts of co-existing disorders, to include, but not be limited to, mental health, substance abuse, traumatic brain injury, substance related, and neurological disorders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitative services best practices, role impairment, organizational and administrative skills, service utilization, and outcomes measurement
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; to relate in a positive and courteous manner
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member in interactions with local and state resources and behavioral health services
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment, including computer, copier, facsimile, and telephone
  • Ability to achieve licensure (LPC) in three years, if not licensed
  • Clear background check (subject to DHSS background check)
  • Current driver’s license; clear driving record 
  • Current tuberculosis screening test result
  • First Aid and CPR certifications must be obtained within 2 weeks of hire. CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification must be obtained when offered through the agency; may substitute current MANDT certificate for CPI
